CHALAZION

CHALAZION is a slow-growing, painless inflammatory lump in the tear gland of the eyelid. It occurs due to blocked mebomian or oil glands. Healed internal styes that no longer are infectious leads to chalazion. These cyst-like nodules form around an oil gland (meibomian gland) within the eyelid, resulting in red, swollen eyelids. Chalazion include pus and blocked fatty secretions (lipids) that normally help lubricate the eye but can no longer drain out. Many chalazia drain of their own by warm compress and gentle massage of eyelid periodically.
Chalazia are more common in people with inflammatory conditions like seborrhea, acne, rosacea, chronic blepharitis, or long-term inflammation of the eyelid. They’re also more common in people with viral conjunctivitis or an infection covering the inside of the eyes and eyelids.
HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT FOR CHALAZION: is safe, natural, gentle and it can treat chalazion without the surgeon’s knife. Homoeopathic medicine helps in treating the blockage of meibomian glands and it prevents its reoccurnce.
Silicea is one of the best selected remedy for chalazion where it gets infected with resultant swelling, tenderness and pus points on the eyelid.
Conium Maculatum acts well when there is extreme hardness of swelling.
Thuja acts well when chalazion is accompanied with heaviness of the eyelids.
While for the reoccurring chalazion I have seen good results with calcarea flour.
